Flack Profile: Patrick Ross, Progress and Freedom Foundation

Patrickross2 Our flack profile series continues today with Patrick Ross, Senior Fellow and VP for Communications  & External Affairs at the Progress & Freedom Foundation. PFF is a market-oriented think tank on technology issues, and Ross is a former reporter for Washington Internet Daily, Communications Daily and CNET's News.com (Check out previous flack profiles).

How long have you been in your current position? Two years, after more than a decade as a journalist

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grow up? An architect, an employee of LegoLand, a singer, Secretary of State, or a bartender in Boston like Sam Malone

Where did you fall in your family’s birth order (i.e., eldest child, middle child)? Only child

What college did you go to and what was your major? I earned a BA in international relations from Pomona College in Claremont, California. I performed graduate study at Oxford University, and I’m pursuing an MBA from Penn State University via their online program.

    Blain K. Rethmeier is currently the Senior Vice President for Public Affairs for the American Insurance Association (AIA). Rethmeier joined AIA from the White House where he served as Special Assistant to the President for Communications and directed communications for the National Economic Council and Homeland Security Council. Prior to joining the White House, Rethmeier served as Press Secretary for the Senate Judiciary Committee.
