First Official '08 Spokesguy: Vilsack's Jeff Link

Tomvilsack Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack (left) became the first official 2008 presidential candidate today, and Hotline reports that his "senior communications strategist" will be Jeff Link, making Link the cycle's first official mouthpiece.

Chris Cillizza wrote in January that "Link's nomadic political career has taken him from the Iowa river town of Burlington to the island paradise of Aruba and back -- all in the space of the last 15 years." Link, 39, is "one of the top Democratic operatives in a state known nationally for its influence in the presidential process" and also worked for victorious IA House candidate Bruce Braley.
