227 Spitzer Flack Applicants Exposed

Eliotspitzer Some beyond-the-Potomac flack news: NY Gov Eliot Spitzer is looking for spokesguys and spokesgals, and thanks to e-mail glitch, applicants know whom they're up against.

NYT reports that "an e-mailed response to people seeking jobs as spokesmen was addressed to 227 other applicants, including many reporters and local and city government employees."

"'My initial reaction was to laugh — they sent it out to a bunch of reporters,' said one applicant...The aspirants came from different sections of the state. Some are journalists, others work in public relations, still others work in branches of city, state and local government."

"One applicant saw it as a positive, saying that at least now he could see whom he was competing against for the limited number of jobs."
