Freshman Rep. McClintock Hires Communications Director, Press Secretary

Jennifer Cressy will be U.S. Representative Tom McClintock’s (R-CA) Communications Director.  She has worked with McClintock for the past 12 years, most recently as his Communications Director during his tenure as a member of the California Legislature. Cressy was also Communications Director for McClintock’s 2003 gubernatorial campaign.  Bill George has been appointed Press Secretary. He has more than 20 years of experience in journalism, marketing and public affairs. George also served as Assistant Secretary of the California Trade and Commerce Agency.  (CQ’s “People on the Move” column)

    Blain K. Rethmeier is currently the Senior Vice President for Public Affairs for the American Insurance Association (AIA). Rethmeier joined AIA from the White House where he served as Special Assistant to the President for Communications and directed communications for the National Economic Council and Homeland Security Council. Prior to joining the White House, Rethmeier served as Press Secretary for the Senate Judiciary Committee.
