DC Flacks Help Design Pilot Program for National Disaster Reporting During North Dakota Flooding
Former
White House National Security Council spokesman and North Dakota native Mark
Pfeifle recently returned to the Midwest to Walker, MN with an experienced group of DC
communicators to strategize with his friend, popular radio host, Scott Hennen, on how to best relay timely and actionable information to the public regarding
the Red River Flood. The team paired the
radio waves of 1100am "The Flag" with the power of the Internet and North
Dakota State University (NDSU) student reporters. The result is now a pilot program for a
national disaster reporting website.
The partners and strategy session participants included FEMA's former-Director of External Affairs Jonathan Thompson, former NASA Chief of Staff Paul Morrell, 2008 Republican Convention's Communications Director Matt Burns, former RNC Deputy Director of Media Affairs James Davis, and George Washington's Presidential Fellow and tech guru Chris Brooks.
