Doheny Named Press Secretary for Freshman Rep. Ellmers

Tom Doheny Today is Tom Doheny’s first day on Capitol Hill, where he is serving as Press Secretary for freshman Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC).

Doheny spent the last six months of 2010 serving as Communications Director for the Republican Party of Delaware and Director of Congressional Communications for the Republican Party of Pennsylvania.

He previously was in the Charles G. Koch Foundation Associate Program at American for Prosperity from 2009-2010.  From 2007-2008 Doheny was at the U.S. Department of Commerce, serving in the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs and also as a Confidential Assistant to the Chief of Staff.  In 2006 he interned in the press office for the Vice President at the White House.

Doheny is a native of Fairfax Station, VA and a 2007 graduate of Hampden-Sydney College.  (PF tipster)

Rethmeier joined AIA from the White House where he served as Special Assistant to the President for Communications and directed communications for the National Economic Council and Homeland Security Council.
