McCain Taps RNC's Jones to Lead '08 Comms

Johnmccain Hotline On Call reports that "Brian Jones, currently the RNC's communications director, will serve as communications director" for Sen. John McCain's 08 campaign.  "Several of Jones's current colleagues [at the RNC] are expected to join McCain's press team in more junior roles." 

"Some of Jones's current colleagues" including RNC Dep. Comm Director Danny Diaz, Press Secretary Tracey Schmitt,  and Outreach Comm Director Tara Wall.

In other McCain comms staff news, Senate Chief of Staff and alter ego Mark Salter "will serve as counselor, helping McCain craft his speeches and working with the communications team." Lance Tarrance Jr. will be research director.

All you job-seekers out there may have a tough time breaking in to Team McCain: "One McCain adviser estimates that they've received about 40 resumes for every open campaign position," Hotline reports.
