JOB OF THE WEEK

Congressman Geoff Davis (R-KY) is seeking a Press Secretary. The successful candidate must have excellent written and oral communications skills and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Responsibilities include: drafting/distributing press releases and media advisories, writing a weekly column, weekly e-newsletter, development and coordination of all franked materials, drafting regular proactive correspondence, planning and preparation for tele-town hall meetings, website maintenance, preparation of talking points and remarks, establishing and maintaining strong relations with local media and executing an aggressive earned media campaign. Additional projects will be assigned from time to time. The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and be a team player.     Blain K. Rethmeier is currently the Senior Vice President for Public Affairs for the American Insurance Association (AIA). Rethmeier joined AIA from the White House where he served as Special Assistant to the President for Communications and directed communications for the National Economic Council and Homeland Security Council. Prior to joining the White House, Rethmeier served as Press Secretary for the Senate Judiciary Committee.
