ABC News Flack Lenzner Moves to SKDKnickerbocker

Emily LenznerEmily Lenzner has been appointed Managing Director of SKDKnickerbocker’s public affairs and communications practice.  Lenzner previously served as Executive Director of Media Relations for ABC News in Washington. Before that, she served as an Account Director at Fenton Communications in New York, as the Press Secretary for Tom Golisano’s 2002 campaign for New York governor, and as Vice President of Robinson, Lerer & Montgomery.  She served as White House Staff Assistant to George Stephanopoulos when he was senior adviser to President Bill Clinton. Rep. Neugebauer Names Crow Communications Director

Matt Crow has been hired as Communications Director for Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-TX).  Crow previously served as Vice President of Communications at the Council on Competitiveness, a nonpartisan business advocacy group. (CQ’s “People on the Move” column)

HELP Committee Names Former Dodd Aide Sessions as Press Secretary

Justine Sessions has been hired as Press Secretary for the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee. Sessions previously served as Deputy Press Secretary for Sen. David All Group Nabs former House/Senate GOP Flack Ward

Obama Director of African American Media Ealons Joins VOX Global

Corey EalonsWhite House Director of African American Media Corey Ealons has been named Senior Vice President at bipartisan public affairs firm VOX.  According to VOX, Ealons will “lead client efforts in broad political, public policy and reputations campaigns.”  Before joining the administration, Ealons held the same position with the Obama-Biden campaign.  A military Veteran of the 3rd U.S. Infrantry (The Old Guard), Ealons has previously worked on Bill Bradley’s presidential campaign, the congressional campaigns of Artur Davis (D-AL), Jack Conway (D-KY) and Jim Marshall (D-GA).  He was also National Regional Political Director for the Kerry-Edwards campaign in 2004 and Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director for Rep. Artur Davis (D-AL).  Ealons has also worked at Ketchum Public Relations.  He earned his degree in public relations and political communications from the University of Alabama.  (PF tipster)

Webb Press Secretary Smith Heads to DOJ

Jessica Smith, formerly the Press Secretary for U.S. Senator Jim Webb (D-VA), heads to the U.S. Department of Justice to focus on civil rights issues, among other tasks, and provide communications support for the 93 U.S. Attorneys across the country.  Smith has been working for Webb for 4 years, 3 ½ years in the Senate and six months on Webb’s Senate campaign. (PF tipster)

Reuters Correspondent Pleming Heads to InterAction as Sr Dir of PR

Sue Pleming Sue Pleming, the Afghanistan-Pakistan correspondent for Reuters, has been named the Senior Director of Public Relations for InterAction, an umbrella NGO which represents about 190 U.S.-based NGOs who work abroad.  Pleming had worked at Reuters for nearly 20 years.  While at Reuters, Pleming had covered the State Department, defense contractors, Iraq reconstruction (from DC) as well as working in Brussels and Africa. Feinstein Flack Wilkinson Joins Ketchum

Ketchum logo Laura Wilkinson, for the last five years the Press Secretary for U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has joined Ketchum’s public affairs practice as media strategist.  Prior to working in the U.S. Senate, Wilkinson was Deputy Director of Congressional Relations at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and Development Associate at the Democratic Leadership Council.  Wilkinson has a Masters in Communications from Johns Hopkins University and an undergraduate degree in International Relations from Brown University.  (PF tipster)

Dee Dee Myers Joins Glover Park Group

The Glover Park Group announced today that Dee Dee Myers, former White House Press Secretary and current Myers_DeeDeepolitical analyst and author, has joined the firm as a Managing Director in its Public Affairs practice. 

Since leaving the White House, Myers has worked as a political analyst, commentator and writer. She is a Contributing Editor to Vanity Fair and a frequent guest on broadcast and cable television networks. She also wrote The New York Times bestselling book, Why Women Should Rule the World.  Myers was also an original consultant to the NBC series, "The West Wing," and contributed story lines and technical advice throughout the show's long, prize-winning run. WSJ’s Hitt Joins PSI as Managing Director

PSI logoGreg Hitt, the Congressional Correspondent for the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), has joined the Washington office of Public Strategies as Managing Director.  According to a PSI release, Hitt will “serve as a strategic communications counselor for the firm’s clients, which include Fortune 50 corporations, major associations and leading non-profit organizations.”  Hitt has covered Congress for over 20 years at the WSJ and Dow Jones Newswires.  Before coming to Washington, Hitt worked for the Winston-Salem Journal in North Carolina.  He received his bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri.
